Who Is Angelina Mango, Representing Italy at Eurovision 2024

The winning song of Sanremo 2024 currently occupies position no. 21 on Spotify’s Viral 50 in the UK. Angelina Mango will represent Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024, which will be held in Malmö, Sweden. “La Noia” won one of the critics’ awards at Sanremo 2024 and entered the two Billboard Global charts – Global 200 and Global Excl. US – where it reached positions no. 110 and 51 respectively. It currently occupies position no. 191 on the Global Excl. US.

Before participating in Eurovision, Angelina Mango was the first female artist to win Italy’s main song contest in the last ten years. The previous one was Arisa in 2014.

Mango’s victory was determined by the vote of the accredited press, which overturned the preferences of the general audience. In the televoting, the winner of Sanremo 2024 received only 16.1% of the votes, while Geolier got 60% (he finished second in the final ranking).

“I’ll be honest, I didn’t expect anything of what happened,” Mango said in a press conference the day after the final. “I was able to live every moment without too much pressure. I received a lot of strength from people and I had the best week of my life.”

Since its release, Angelina Mango’s “La Noia” by Angelina Mango has consistently been in the top 10 of the Italian airplay chart. Last week the song was certified platinum in Italy.

The meaning of “La Noia”

“La Noia” was written with Madame and produced by Dardust. It is a cumbia-style song that overturns the usual conception of boredom, inviting the listeners to consider it as precious time to dedicate to themselves.

In the song, Angelina Mango invites you to consider that feeling as precious time to dedicate to yourself. “At the beginning, for me it, was a totally negative concept, like for many other people. Now I’m able to conceive it in another way,” she said.

During Sanremo 2024, Angelina Mango inaugurated a temporary store called “Noioteca” where fans were able to carry out activities and have experiences to make the most of their downtime.

Who is Angelina Mango

Angelina Mango is the daughter of the late Italian singer and songwriter Giuseppe Mango, simply known as Mango. He died in 2014 of cardiac arrest after interrupting a concert where he was performing one of his most famous songs, “Oro.” Before arriving in Sanremo, Angelina had won in the music category of the popular Italian talent show Amici in 2023.

Other successful songs of hers include “Che t’o dico a fa’” (sung in Neapolitan dialect), “Ci pensiamo domani,” and “Voglia di vivere.”
