Emmy Awards 2023: le nomination per le categorie musicali

Le nomination degli Emmy Awards 2023 sono state annunciate mercoledì 12 luglio.

Adam Blackstone, che ha vinto il suo primo Primetime Emmy nel 2022 per la sua direzione musicale dell’Halftime Show del Super Bowl, agli Emmy Awards 2023 ha ricevuto ben due nomination in quella categoria (Outstanding Music Direction), per il suo lavoro per la cerimonia della Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2022 e di nuovo per l’Halftime Show del Super Bowl con Rihanna (nominato insieme a Omar Edwards).

Altri due che hanno vinto in quella categoria in precedenza, Greg Phillinganes e Rickey Minor, sono di nuovo nominati nella medesima. Phillinganes, che vinse nel 2015 per Stevie Wonder: Songs in the Key of Life – An All-Star Grammy Salute, è nominato per il suo lavoro-tributo a un’altra leggenda della musica, Joni Mitchell. Minor, che ha già vinto due volte in quella categoria (per Taking the Stage: African American Music and Stories That Changed America e la cerimonia del Kennedy Center), è anche nominato agli Oscar.

Giganti della pop music come Ed Sheeran e Max Martin sono stati nominati (insieme a Foy Vance) nella categoria Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics per la canzone A Beautiful Game, scritta per la serie Ted Lasso. Un secondo brano di quella colonna sonora, Fought & Lost, è stato nominato nella stessa categoria. È stato scritto da Tom How, Jamie Hartman e Sam Ryder.

Nicholas Britell ha avuto due delle cinque nomination come Outstanding Music Composition for a Series (Original Dramatic Score), ovvero per le serie Andor e Succession. Britell è anche nominato nella categoria Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music per Andor.

Nora Felder, vincitrice l’anno scorso nella categoria Outstanding Music Supervision per Stranger Things, è nominata di nuovo in quella categoria, sempre per la stessa serie.

Danny Elfman ha due nomination per il suo lavoro per la serie Wednesday. È nominato per Outstanding Music Composition for a Series (Original Dramatic Score) in tandem con Chris Bacon e per Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music.

Laura Karpman ha due nomination per il suo lavoro per Ms. Marvel: Outstanding Music Composition for a Limited or Anthology Series, Movie or Special (Original Dramatic Score); e Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music.

Gli Emmy Awards 2023 saranno trasmessi da Los Angeles lunedì 18 settembre dalle 17 (ora locale) su Fox. I vincitori di Emmy Awards Jesse Collins e Dionne Harmon e Jeannae Rouzan-Clay di Jesse Collins Entertainment sono i produttori esecutivi.
