The artistic director and main host Amadeus announced it yesterday during the live news on Rai 1, together with Damiano, Victoria, and Thomas
It is official: Måneskin will come back to Sanremo as guest artists. Amadeus – artistic director and main host of the Festival – announced it yesterday during the evening news on Rai 1. But he was not alone: Damiano, Victoria, and Thomas were there with him. The band, that just released their new album Rush!, will perform during the third night of the event (February 9th). They will join the already announced performances of Black Eyed Peas (February 8th), and of Al Bano, Massimo Ranieri, Gianni Morandi.
«The news is that I’m the fourth member of Måneskin», he said jokingly, since Ethan was absent because of a disease. «I invite them every year. There’s a strong connection between Sanremo and them. The Festival reaches the next level when they’re there».
Damiano commented their comeback to Sanremo, the stage that launched their global success: «We can’t wait to come back there. We hoped for it, it’s always an honor for us». The band will fly to Italy specifically to perform at Sanremo, since they’ll be in the United States until the day before. Måneskin’s performance «will be raw energy. They’ll make the Ariston Theatre explode», guaranteed Amadeus.
Update: Måneskin will be joined on stage by Tom Morello, as announced by an official press release dated February 3rd. The legendary guitarist of Rage Against The Machine collaborated with the Italian band for the single Gossip. They already performed together at The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
