Taylor Swift trionfa agli MTV VMAs 2024: tutti i vincitori
La popstar, con sette premi, è diventata l’artista più premiata di sempre degli MTV Video Music Awards. Record anche per Eminem

Lo spettacolo degli MTV Video Music Awards all’USB Arena di New York non ha deluso le aspettative, tra esibizioni già iconiche, come quella medievale di Chappell Roan, quella di apertura di Eminem o quella di Sabrina Carpenter. Appesa al soffitto su un’altalena tempestata di diamanti (che evocava Moulin Rouge) la popstar ha cantato Please Please Please, poi è scesa su un palcoscenico in stile superficie lunare per cantare Taste e infine chiudere con la hit Espresso. Il piatto forte degli MTV VMAs è stata ovviamente l’assegnazione dei premi: i vincitori assoluti sono stati Taylor Swift – artista dell’anno per il secondo anno consecutivo – e Post Malone. Quest’ultimo ha portato a casa cinque trofei in tandem con la cantautrice per il loro featuring Fortnight contenuto in The Tortured Poets Department.
Dopo ieri sera, il totale dei Moonperson della carriera della Swift è salito 30, il che le permette di pareggiare Beyoncé come miglior vincitrice nella storia degli MTV VMAs, superandola per quanto riguarda i premi solisti. Bey ha infatti trionfato 26 volte da sola, due come membro dei The Carters e due come con le Destiny’s Child.
Non solo Taylor Swift: gli altri artisti premiati agli MTV VMAs
Eminem, Megan Thee Stallion e Katy Perry hanno vinto due premi ciascuno. Questo porta il totale della carriera del rapper a 15 MTV VMAs, più di qualsiasi altro artista maschile nella storia dello show. Fino a quest’anno, Eminem era a pari merito con Peter Gabriel, con 13 vittorie. Quest’anno si è aggiudicato il premio per il miglior hip-hop e per i migliori effetti visivi, entrambi per Houdini. Questa è la sua terza vittoria come miglior hip-hop. Solo Nicki Minaj ha vinto più premi in questa categoria (cinque).
Megan Thee Stallion, che ha condotto lo show degli MTV VMAs di quest’anno, ha vinto il premio per il miglior video di tendenza per Mamushi (con Yuki Chiba) e la miglior direzione artistica per BOA.
Katy Perry invece ha ricevuto il Video Vanguard Award e, a sorpresa, ha vinto il premio per l’esibizione più iconica degli MTV VMAs per la sua performance di Roar del 2013. La performance ha battuto momenti memorabili come Like a Virgin di Madonna, in occasione dello show inaugurale del 1984, e The Real Slim Shady e The Way I Am di Eminem del 2000, dove l’icona del rap era affiancata da oltre 100 sosia.
Chappell Roan ha vinto come miglior artista esordiente. È il settimo anno consecutivo che un’artista donna si aggiudica il premio. Cardi B ha iniziato questa striscia nel 2018, seguita da Billie Eilish, Doja Cat, Olivia Rodrigo, Dove Cameron e Ice Spice. Tra i premiati anche Lisa e i SEVENTEEN rispettivamente come Best K-pop e Best Group, Lenny Kravitz come Best Rock e Anitta (Best Latin) e Tyla (Best Afrobeats).
