Italian music is growing on an international scale, in terms both of consumption and revenues generated by copyright. Between 2018 and 2021, copyright revenues coming from abroad grew by 7.6%, as revealed by a report released by SIAE and Italia Music Export.

2021 saw a growth in revenues for the Italian music industry internationally. The trend continued in H1 2022. Måneskin are largely responsible for this, as their songwriting credits rank first globally (but also in Europe and in the “under 35” category). Besides them, there are both classics of Italian music (like the great Domenico Modugno) and top artists of Euro dance such as Eiffel 65.

Urban and hip hop are also represented. Among the most successful Italian songwriters under the age of 35 in the world, we find Rocco Hunt (#4) and Zef (#5), followed by thasup, Charlie Charles, Mahmood, Capo Plaza, Sfera Ebbasta, among others.

Here is the complete report (in Italian).
